What is the material?
Polymer clay is a type of modelling clay mainly made from polymer polyvinyl chloride(PVC). With enough warming by hands, it is a very malleable and exciting material that can be formed into any imaginable shapes, from adorable dolls and sculptures to elegant beads and jewellery. You can also mix the clays to create a palette of colours for your original artworks. Baking the clay after shaping would harden it and make it durable. As long as it is placed away from direct sunlight and gently cleaned with water, it can be perfectly stored for a long period of time.
Polymer clay was born in Germany since the late 1930s. By the 1990s, it became prevalent all over the world and that was when our founder Ms Zhao Chunxiang first engaged in this material in Beijing. Since 1999, Ms Zhao has committed to study polymer clay and developed “Eco-art Polymer Clay Education” to share the beauty in it. She believed that polymer clay is more than mere art materials. Immersing in polymer crafting is a way to let our limitless creativity flow, and through balancing the movement of our hands, we are able to explore a way to our soul and achieve inner harmony to carry over our daily lives.
